Home football game duties

  • 1-2 people are responsible for filling the cooler with enough waters for each performer plus a few extra (check for left overs in booster closet in percussion band room, first locked cabinet, contact volunteer coordinator for combo). Cooler(s) are kept in band room on top of cabinet.
  • Fill with water & ice and either bring to the game, or if you are able to bring it to load out, make sure cooler is put on the band truck. Either way you and your partner will pull it in to the stands.
  • After half time show you will be handing waters out to students as they come back to the bleachers.
  • Students are responsible for picking up their own trash, but at the end of the game, water brigade should make a “trash sweep” to make sure no bottles or trash is left behind.
    • Bring a large trash bag to each game.
    • Plastic bottles can be saved for future recycle fundraising (cannot be stored in band room).
  • Return unused waters (make sure they are dry) to the booster closet and return dried cooler to percussion room(put on top of cabinet at back of room). This may mean you have to take home to dry out, but make sure waters and coolers are returned to band room before next performance.
  • Keep receipts and turn them in to the booster mailbox for reimbursement. Make sure you include your name and address on the receipt.

Competition Duties

  • 1-2 people are responsible for filling the cooler with enough water & ice for each performer x 2, plus at least 20 extra for directors & coaches. The count may be increased for warmer weather (check for left overs in booster closet in percussion band room, first locked cabinet contact volunteer coordinator for combo). Contact volunteer coordinator for band and color guard count.
  • Cooler(s) are kept in band room on top of cabinet.
  • Trash bags (3-4) for recycled bottles. Can be saved for future recycle fundraising (cannot be stored in band room).
  • Make sure the coolers make it on the truck at the load out time.
  • Percussion and wind may rehearse in different areas, so make sure waters go with them. Their chaperon can be responsible for water disbursement.
  • Color guard will be in a separate warm up area, make sure to supply them with an adequate number of waters which will have to be in a separate cooler.
    • This can be taken by color guard chaperone as long as they have a separate cooler.
    • They will also need a trash bag for recycled bottles.
  • Additional waters can be left on the truck for reloading and post competition.
